One point to note on this instal­la­tion is how Be Con­struc­tive dealt with the win­dow sills. Most sills of this era are stone or con­crete, and that means you don’t want a plas­tic sill exten­sion mak­ing the prop­erty look ugly. The alter­na­tive you can see here is to use XPS insu­la­tion to envelop the sill and ren­der, cre­at­ing a very sim­i­lar effect to the orig­i­nal sill. The added ben­e­fit is that you stop any cold bridges that could occur around the sill, cre­at­ing a snug and warm inte­rior.

Also notice how the reveals around the win­dows are shaped to cre­ate an attrac­tive fin­ish in keep­ing with the orig­i­nal design. Not every solid wall installer out there will go to this level of detail.
