The land­lord of this block of six flats got in touch with us to install solid wall insu­la­tion. The chal­lenge of this was that we had to help co-ordi­nate the occu­pants of each to make sure they were happy with all stages of the work. As the prop­erty was on a busy road, the first thing we needed to do was to obtain a scaf­fold­ing licence. These come from the rel­e­vant coun­cil and can be a night­mare but we are expe­ri­enced at get­ting them!

Once we had the license, we could start work cov­er­ing the dated peb­bledash exte­rior. Every flat was wrapped with our exter­nal wall insu­la­tion sys­tem and then the customer’s cho­sen colour of ren­der was applied. As you can see, there were lots of periph­er­als like dishes that needed to be adjusted, plus some quite del­i­cate work around the stair­case. We even man­aged to insu­late and ren­der the area under­neath the steps – an extremely small crawl space but we man­aged to get in there to work and ren­der it.

The fin­ished flats are warmer, water­tight and much nicer look­ing!
