External wall insulation South Norwood

We recently fin­ished installing exter­nal wall insu­la­tion on this semi-detached prop­erty in South Nor­wood. We cov­ered the tired-look­ing peb­bledash with bright new ren­der and repli­cated the orig­i­nal brick detail­ing at the front of the prop­erty with brick slips. The prop­erty was in a con­ser­va­tion area so the cus­tomer had to apply for plan­ning per­mis­sion for the works. The only stip­u­la­tion the coun­cil gave was that the front of the house needed its fea­tures repli­cated as closely as pos­si­ble. That meant repro­duc­ing the brick on the ground floor in some way.

Brick slips are a great option for this because they are easy to apply and give a great brick effect look with­out hav­ing to strengthen the sys­tem for real bricks (a lot more expense).

The first stage was erect­ing the scaf­fold­ing. Then, the EWI Pro exter­nal wall insu­la­tion sys­tem was installed, dra­mat­i­cally increas­ing the ther­mal per­for­mance of the house. The ren­der also gave the house a facelift – it cov­ers the house with an attrac­tive water­tight coat­ing. The cus­tomer chose an off-white min­eral ren­der, with brick slip detail­ing at the front of the house.

Next, brick slips were installed at the front of the house. The cus­tomer chose from a selec­tion of colours and tex­tures. The brick slips were stuck to the wall indi­vid­u­ally using a spe­cial adhe­sive. As you can see, the fin­ish looked great!
